Title: Arrested for speech in Arizona
Post by: Matthew on Oct 28, 2020, 03:17 AM

Man arrested for speech (https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/scottsdale-breaking/2020/10/27/video-shows-scottsdale-man-telling-black-man-no-n-word-zone/6045475002/)

Can someone tell me why this man was arrested?

According to the article, it's two counts of Disorderly Conduct (https://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/disorderly+conduct), which is about as broad a misdemeanor charge as "contempt of court". I don't like what either of these people are saying, but if you want to initiate a complaint against a Scottsdale PD employee (the arresting officer or the Chief of Police?) you can do so here (https://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/police/comment-on-a-police-officer).
