The Constitution / Disaster relief
Last post by irb - Sep 13, 2019, 06:33 PM
An interesting question posed by a friend of mine: where in the Constitution is the Federal Government given the authority to respond to natural disasters? Does the JBS have an official stance on this? My guess is that it would either be understood to fall under "general welfare" or "common defense".

He was not on his game that night. Not a very good presentation. But I did buy his book and he did sign it which was nice.

Giles ran unopposed last time. I say we make sure that doesn't happen again.

General Discussion / Gun Control
Last post by rose - Sep 12, 2019, 02:20 PM
Below are two links to recent articles. The first being a short summary on Mesa Mayor Giles in D.C. discussing gun control. The second is on about potential bills passing through congress to do gun control with comments from Andy Biggs. What are your thoughts on the 2 different Republican views from our local and federal representation?

I like that idea. Is there something specific to the police we can suggest?

The museum is small but worth checking out. I went with my wife last year. They have a couple pamphlets and literature when you walk in the museum and I believe they run off of donations, I don't remember there being a fee to get in. Maybe we could see if they are interested in some of our literature.

Last night at the Ted Nugget concert the Phoenix Police Museum had a table aet up out front. We had never heard of them before and thought it might be worth checking out. Below is a link to their website.
