Mesa News / News sources?
Last post by irb - Jun 25, 2019, 09:09 AM
What are some of the sources you use to get local news? I like https://arizonadailyindependent.com/ and try to keep an eye on https://www.eastvalleytribune.com/ and https://www.azfamily.com/. Twitter, surprisingly, can be helpful for more realtime events. Where do you look for local news?

Strong words from the President of Mesa Police Association.

PHOENIX — The Mesa Police Association announced Wednesday morning that 95% of 564 officers surveyed say they do not have confidence in Chief Ramon Batista.

"He is no longer welcome in the Mesa Police Department. He is no longer welcome in our home and we would like him to leave," the police union's president Nate Gafvert said at a press conference.

Gun Owners of America is urging people to contact our U.S. Senators to "reject the anti-gun Chuck Canterbury nomination". Mr. Canterbury is the President of the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police), supports expanding the NICS database, opposes (according to GOA) Constitutional Carry and has, through FOP, supported universal background checks.

I'm curious if JBS has a stance on Mr. Canterbury's nomination and what the JBS's stance on Police unions might be.

Welcome to the new Forum!

This forum exists to help coordinate the efforts of the Southeast Mesa chapter of the John Birch Society. We have some public areas for general topical discussion that you can join in whether you're a member or not, but the boards specific to the SE Mesa Chapter are restricted. Contact Ian, the Admin, if you're a member of the chapter and would like to get access to those boards.

If you're a member of another Mesa chapter of the JBS, please get in touch, I'm happy to offer hosting and services to your chapter as well (hence the domain name not being specific to the SE Mesa group).

Since this Forum is new, many of the boards haven't been created yet. Post here if you have a suggestion!
